Welcome

Welcome to The Kolbe Center.

This private practice was founded by Dr. Melanie Margiotta, MD and is currently under the direction of Dr. Maria Bajuyo, MD.  Our practice is committed to providing compassionate care for patients seeking  addiction medicine services or natural family planning education and medical treatment using NaProTechnology.

Our  addiction medicine services include detoxification and medication assisted treatment with buprenorphine, naltrexone as well as other non-medication treatment modalities including smoking cessation and food addiction. We also provide individual, group and family counseling led by a licensed clinical addiction counselor.

Our natural family planning and NaProTechnology services are provided by Creighton fertility care practitioners, Sonia-Maria Raposo, FCP and BrieAnne Eichhorn, RN.

At the Kolbe Center, our Catholic identity guides the mode and purpose of our practice. We welcome patients of all backgrounds who seek our fertility services or treatment for addiction and support for life-long recovery.

St. Maximilian Kolbe.

Saint Maximilian Kolbe was a Polish Conventual Franciscan Friar who was sent to Auschwitz for hiding Jews during the Second World War. When the Nazi guards selected 10 people to be starved to death in punishment, Kolbe volunteered to die in place of a stranger. After two weeks of dehydration and starvation the guards gave him a lethal injection of carbolic acid. He was later canonized as a martyr. St. Kolbe is the patron of drug addicts, prisoners, families, and the pro-life movement.

"The most deadly poison of our times is indifference. And this happens, although the praise of God should know no limits. Let us strive, therefore, to praise Him to the greatest extent of our powers."
